Manufacturing Cluster

"We've come to realize that we indeed have the capability to create some new opportunities here that will take advantage of our strengths in the paper and forest products area."
~Dale Arendt, The Arendt Group

Cluster Updates:

January, 2007
The Paper & Forest Products Cluster is pleased to announce that they have changed their name to the Manufacturing Cluster. The cluster recognizes the enormous impact of the paper and forest products industry on our region and will continue to nurture relationships within the industry. However, they have identified the need to ensure our future as a manufacturing community by assisting in the promotion, growth and sustainability of a diverse manufacturing base and feel this all inclusiveness is reflected in the name change. As always, this cluster welcomes new members. Join them at their next meeting, May 16th, 4:00pm at the Grand Avenue Tavern in Hotel Mead.

September 18, 2006
In October the Paper and Forestry Product Cluster is participating in the Hogs to Bogs and Logs event hosted by the Hotel Mead. In November the cluster will welcome a delegation for business people from Rhinelander as a reciprocal visit to build collaborations between the communities.

February 6, 2006
The cluster is supporting the efforts of a local businessman to diversify his business into other markets. The group is also exploring how the recently laid off workers could be brought into the cluster. They have identified local businesses that they would like to tour to gain insight and knowledge about their activities. Bruener Timber Products was toured on Wednesday, November 2, with the Secretary of the Department of Commerce in attendance.
